I’m Robbert Zijlstra LLM MA MBA, Dutch by origin, European by experience, an independent advisor operating across two disciplines that increasingly overlap in modern organisations: commercial growth and AI/IP governance.
I specialise in the intersection where commercial execution, human behaviour and IP/AI governance meet.
With more than 30 years of experience in enterprise sales, commercial strategy and organisational transformation, I support executive teams in two areas:

Fractional Sales Leadership - helping organisations accelerate revenue, strengthen their GTM strategy and secure C-level access across Europe.

Behavioural-First IP/AI Governance - auditing how people, processes and assumptions influence legal, behavioural and reputational exposure when adopting AI.
My academic background spans sociology, business administration and commercial law, with a specialisation in IP and AI. I am currently engaged in research(Dr BA) on the future impact of AI on labour markets and human decision-making in commercial environments, which directly strengthens my advisory work in sales transformation and AI/IP governance.
I work independently from Sofia and Amsterdam, advising mid-sized and large organisations across Europe. My approach is structured, discreet and aligned with internal governance frameworks, whether the goal is to drive commercial growth or to prepare for regulatory scrutiny around AI and IP.
Why I Combine Law, Behaviour and Systems
Most organisations still treat AI as a technical upgrade. Legal checks come last. Behaviour is ignored. IP risks emerge only when things go wrong.
My Behavioural-First IP/AI Audit reverses that logic. I analyse how people actually use AI, how assumptions shape output reuse, and where legal blind spots form, long before any damage occurs.
It’s not a paper audit. It’s a practical, structured process that aligns law, behaviour and operational reality.
